Dean Wright

Mr. David “Dean” Wright, age 63, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Upson Medical Center in Thomason, GA.  He was born in Brunswick on December 4, 1958 to David and Carolyn O’Neal Wright and proudly was reared as a military brat.  He had lived in Glennville many years before moving to Manassas in 2007.  Dean had worked many years with the Georgia Department of Corrections before starting a new career with Canoochee Electric Membership Corporation as their Mapping Supervisor.  He enjoyed riding his Honda Goldwing motorcycle, fishing, and camping.  He will be always be remember by being a jokester at work and home.  Dean was of the Baptist faith and is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie H. Wright of Manassas; children, Christin (John) Williams, Courtney (Jamie) Roberts and Kady (Blair) Jones all of Glennville; stepchildren, Justin (Kristen) Huggins and Michael Huggins all of Meansville, GA; his mother, Mrs. Carolyn Wright of Glennville; sister and brother-in-law, Tina and David Brannen of Glennville; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverend Steve Miller officiating.  Interment will follow in the Watermelon Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Durrence, Andy Whiten, Jarvis Small, Derwood Tootle, Cris Barlett, and Johnathon Barlett,

The family will assemble at the home of David and Tina Brannen, 4574 Banks Durrence Road in Glennville.

Memorials may be given to Tattnall CARES.
