Debra Smith Dinkins, age 64, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Community Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 1, 1957 in Evans County to James Benjamin and Carolyn Wildes Smith and had lived in Tattnall County most of her life. She was a 1975 Claxton High School graduate. Debra was a cosmetologist for 44 years owning the Styling Shop II in Glennville and had worked for ten years as a hairstylist at the Cloister on Sea Island. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, tending to her plants and fruit trees. Debra took great pride in preparing the Thanksgiving meal for her family and this will be a treasured memory for her family. She was of the Methodist faith and is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, David Dinkins; her children, David James Dinkins and Kayse (Kirk) Brantley; sister, Judy Smith Scott; grandchildren, Dawson and Kai Bo Brantley; nieces, Sarah (Jordan) Crawford, Rachel (Spencer) Buck, and Rebecca (Davis) Wiliford; great niece and nephew, Wesley and Aubrey Crawford
In keeping with Debra’s wishes there will be a private family service.
