Deon E. Walker
The Angels came to take Deon home on May 21, 2015. Deon was born on February 6, 1965, in Plainfield, New Jersey to his mother LaVerne Walker and his father, Thurmon Smith and a stepfather, who preceded him in death, Mr. Noris Walker.
He received his education in the public school district, where he graduated from Claxton High School. He became a member of St. Phillip Missionary Church at an early age in life.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory, both his mother and father; children, Antonio Fate (Vahista Fate), Shanice Lashae Walker, Desiree Williams and Shaday Love; five grandchildren; two brothers, Christopher (Danyal) Walker of Jacksonville, FL, Thurmon Smith, Jr. of New York; two sisters, Penny (Robert) Rivers of Jacksonville, FL and Renae Smith of North Carolina; special sister, Katina (Carl) Madison of Jesup, GA; aunts and uncles,Jacklyn, Herbert, Raymond, Willie, James Smith, all of Reidsville, GA, Tanella Thomas, Blondine Walker, Nella Walker, all of Atlanta, GA, Margie and Richard Sharpe, Lorine Holmes, both of Chicago, IL, Corine Griffin of North Carolina, Lillian and Allen Griffin of Collins, GA, Novella McKinnon of Claxton, GA and Jaspen Griffin, Jr., of Newark NJ; nieces and nephews, Jalisa and Christopher Walker, Jr. of Vidalia, GA, Xavier, Jr. and Bri’Asia Lewis of Jacksonville, FL.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 5, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday from the St. Phillip Missionary Baptist Church with the interment to follow in the Sandhill Cemetery.
