Collins GA,
Diane Higgs, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at her home. The native of Queens, New York moved to West Palm Beach Fl during her youth. It was there that she met who would become her husband, Buford Higgs. The two wed and embarked on a wonderful life together for 40 years. Diane always wanted to contribute to her family’s well being and she gained employment outside of the home. Working first for RCA for over 9 years. She, however, found her career passion in working within hospitals. The first being Palm Beach Gardens Hospital where she worked for over 11 years. The family moved back to her husband’s hometown, Collins GA over 35 years ago. Once in Tattnall County, she began working at the Tattnall County Hospital for 6 years, before ultimately moving to Evans Memorial Hospital for an additional 6 years and retiring after a productive career. Diane was certainly family oriented and loved her children and was blessed to be able to spoil her grandchildren and great grand children. In her free time she loved gardening and flowers in general. Her family would say that she had no vices, but for her love to dine at the Coleman House in Swainsboro. Diane was a lively soul who touched many lives, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
