Diane (Barnard) Hightower

Mrs. Diane B. Hightower, age 79 passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on November 24, 1941 in Claxton to Carutha and Annie Merle Deloach Barnard and had lived in Tattnall County most of her life.  She had worked at Southern Bell Telephone, Concerted Services and had retired from the Department of Corrections. She was a seamstress working for TG&Y and even made all of her children clothes and enjoyed canning vegetables.  She is a member of Friendship Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years, Mr. Louie Hightower and her siblings, Paul Barnard Vernon Barnard, and Wanda Morris.

Mrs. Diane is survived by her children, Angela Arthur of Collins, Lisa (Wendell) Thompson of Collins, Gina (Herb) Brown of Reidsville and Louie (April) Hightower of Collins; sister, Sherrill Richardson of Claxton; Grandchildren, Jason (Wendy Lynch), Joshua (Monica), and Anna (Michael Mincey) Driggers, Ashley(Efrain)Perez, Chad (Michelle) Brown, Dillon (Jocelyn) Todd, April Todd, Erin (Patrick) Merrill, and Kaylee Hightower; great grandchildren, Natalie and Eden Perez, AuBrianna Todd, Addalynn Moore, Gavin Covington, Noah Todd and Chloe Todd; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 26, 2021 beginning at 6:00pm at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Friendship Baptist Church with the Reverends Wes Collins and Curt Tootle officiating.  Interment will follow in the Little Flock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jason Driggers, Chad Brown, Efrain Perez, Michael Mincey, Dillon Todd and Patrick Merrill.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Deacons of Friendship Baptist Church

Memorials may be given to Friendship Baptist Church Building Fund or Tattnall CARES
