Donald Thompson

Lyons/Claxton,

Donald “Scrap” Thompson , age 64, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at the Tattnall Health Care Center in Reidsville.  The Evans County native had lived in Toombs County many years.  He had served twelve years with Georgia National Guard, served as a correctional officer and served with the Toombs County Road Department.  He was very much an outdoorsman.  Scrap is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Thompson; parents, Buddy and Evelyn Thompson; brothers, his twin Ronald, Robert, Henry, Allen and Tony Thompson; sisters, Doris Dennis and Becky Anderson; nephew, J Ball; and a great nephew, Gabe Sermons.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna (Adam) Futch of Lyons; granddaughter, Kairi Ann Futch; brothers, James Thompson and Harry Thompson both of Claxton; sisters, Betty Tapley of Girard, Ann Sermons, and Jan Ball all of Claxton; a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial funeral services will be conducted 11:00am, Friday, August 26, 2016 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory with the Reverend Justin Gordon officiating.
