Obituary
BLOOMINGDALE
Dorothy Jean Boatright, age 78 passed away on Monday June 6, 2011 at Hospice of Savannah surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.
Mrs. Boatright was a native of Saluda, SC. and had lived most of her life in Savannah, before moving to Bloomingdale eight years ago. She was a member of Bloomingdale First Baptist Church. Mrs. Boatright was a loving wife, mother and a wonderful friend to many. She retired from K-Mart and was an avid shopper.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Tom Boatright of Bloomingdale. One daughter and son-in-law, Darlene (Stephen) Yarbrough of Guyton. Two sons and daughter-in-law, Tommy Randy Boatright of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and Danny Ray (Pam) Boatright of kennesaw, GA.; One brother, Leonard Taylor. Six sisters, Evelyn Smith, Catherine Williams, Betty Seigler, Mae Baughman, Joann Seeby, and Shirley Barnett. Four grandchildren, Natalie Boatright, Jordan and Taylor Yarbrough and Anna Boatright.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home in Pooler.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Pooler with Major Leonard Taylor, Reverend Darrell Bailey and Reverend Bill Black officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Savannah.
Memorial Donations and Remembrances
In Lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Hospice of Savannah.
