Douglas Allen Norton, Sr.

Douglas A. Norton Sr., 68 years old, passed away on November 12, 2021, peacefully at his residence surrounded by loving family and under Amedisys Home Hospice care in Hinesville, GA, after an extended illness.  He was born July 20, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Rollie Norton and Lucille Ladendecker Norton and has resided in Hinesville since 2003. In 1971, he joined the United States Army, where he would earn the rank of staff sergeant (E6) before honorably leaving the military in 1980.  Doug is preceded in death by his wife Deborah D. Anderson Norton, his parents, and his brothers, Steven Norton and Jerry Norton.

He is survived by his children, Douglas Norton Jr. of Missouri, Melissa Scroggins Norton of Georgia, and Christopher Norton of Georgia; seven brothers and sisters, eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.
