Dr. Jody Mac Foreman, 52, of Statesboro, Georgia passed away April 28, 2021 in his home surrounded by his loving wife, children, and cousin.
The funeral service will be held at Eastern Heights Baptist Church, 1:00 pm, May 22, 2021. A Celebration of Life to immediately follow at the home Jody shared with his wife.
Jody was born in Muskegon, Michigan on March 10, 1969. He graduated from Orchard View High School and continued on through his years with many degrees until receiving his Doctorate of Education from Liberty University.
In Jody’s words he was married to “the love of his life” Shilo Carpenter on May 2, 2009.
Jody worked as an educator for 28 years. The last 13 years he spent with Jasper County School District right up until the day of his passing. His passion for history and love of learning was contagious to all who knew him. Throughout Jody’s years as an educator he also coached tennis, volleyball, and many of his children’s sports. He was an active member at Eastern Heights Baptist church and enjoyed teaching Awanas.
Jody is survived by his wife, Shilo Foreman, children Kel Carpenter (Matt Ansley), Ashley Joseph (Chris Joseph), Allison Foreman, Holly Foreman, Adam Foreman, Gannon Carpenter, granddaughter, Iris, parents, Mac & Diana Foreman, brother, James Foreman, sister, Heidi Davis (Mike Davis), many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, and cousins.
Flowers can be sent to Eastern Heights Baptist Church, Statesboro Georgia. Donations can be made to believebig.org. We believe Jody’s mistletoe treatments were huge in his treatment. These were an out of pocket expense and hard to get to. Any donations made to the family will be used for Jody’s final wishes.
