Earnest Tootle Sr.

Earnest Tootle Sr. age 76 passed away on August 5, 2023 at the Glenvue Health and Rehab in Glennville.  Born on June 26, 1947, in Reidsville, GA, Earnest was the son of the late Foy E. and Nettie Lee Wilds Tootle.

He had worked for Lane Construction Company in Bartow, Florida and had worked in the timber industry.  Outside of work, Earnest found joy and solace in his favorite hobby—fishing. He attended Stoney Hill Baptist Church and is preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 50 years, Peggy Reese Tootle; his siblings Carolyn Tootle Harfield, Katherine Tootle Hughes, Vonice Tootle Price, Terry Tootle, Gladys Tootle Collins, and Robert Tootle.

He is survived by his children: Walter (Stacy) Reese of Lyons, Earnest Tootle Jr., and John Tootle, both of Reidsville; his siblings: Melba Tootle Smith, Foy Tootle Jr., both of Reidsville, Doy Tootle of Alamo, and Doyle (Susan) Tootle of Reidsville; his grandchildren: Trenton Lee Reese, Tanner Reese, and Tyler Reese; several nieces and nephews.

To honor Earnest's memory, a visitation will be held on Monday August 7, 2023, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM at Low Country Cremation & Burial.  Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery in Lyons on the same day at 4:00 PM with Reverend Jeffery Barnard officiating.
