Eddie Lee Powell, age 49, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the South East Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick.  The Lyons native had lived in Jacksonville and Vidalia most of his life.  He moved to McInstosh County five years ago.  He was a roofer and attended Northside Baptist Church in Darien.  Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Talmadge and Reba Powell and  a brother, Robert Powell.

He is survived by his children, Eddie Powell, Jr. of Darien, Patricia Nicole Powell and Summer Powell both of Florida; siblings, Patty Powell of Lyons, Barbara Chambers of Vidalia, TL Powell, Jr. of Lyons, Anthony "Tony" Powell of Darien, and Grady Douglas Powell of Jacksonville; adopted siblings, Alisa King (Derick Murray) of Reidsville, and Paul King of Cobbtown; several grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Memorial services will be conducted 12:00pm Friday, June 5, 2015 from the Northside Baptist Church.
