Edgar Danner, age 76 passed away Friday, September 6, 2019 at his residence.  He was born July 11, 1943 in Vidalia to Hampton Edgar, Jr. and Kathleen Kennedy Danner and lived in Glennville all of his life. Mr. Edgar was a 1961 graduate of Glennville High School and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.  Early in his career, he was affiliated with Danner Furniture Store.  The furniture business was not his destiny in life.  Following his calling toward the field of agriculture, he went to work with the Georgia Department of Agriculture where he served several roles and ultimately retired as a Meat Inspector.  After his retirement you could find Mr. Edgar on his son, Al’s, cattle farm.  This is where his life’s true passion was on full display.  Countless times you would hear him say, “When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life”.   Additionally, he was a member of the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association and attended the Glennville United Methodist Church.  He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Cindy Gonski.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Danner of Glennville; children, Hamp Danner, Al (Tracy) Danner all of Glennville, Misty (Chris) Adams of Vidalia, and Melanie (Jeff) Lehman of Acworth; sister, Margaret Danner of Glennville; grandchildren, Christi Wright, Colby Danner, Aubree Cate Danner, Jace Danner, Evan Adams, Ella Adams, Jacob Lehman, Abigail Lehman, and Danielle Lehman; great grandchildren, Payton Wright and Jaycee Wright; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 8, 2019 beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverend Jim Morrow officiating. Interment will be in the Glennville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jerrod Howard, Russell Pearson, Jes Strickland, Chris Adams, Jeff Lehman, and Tim Bland.
