Edna (Wood) Ingram

Ms. Edna Wood Ingram, age 89, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, passed peacefully into heaven in the arms of her Lord, Sunday, August 4, 2019. A long-term resident of Reidsville, Georgia, Miss Edna was born to Rupert Arthur Wood and Irene Tootle. In her younger years, Edna worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper, but most enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her children for many years. Edna was very active in the church, volunteering at the blood drives, singing the choir, teaching Sunday School, and hosted monthly birthday parties at the nursing home. She was an avid gardener and loved feeding the hummingbirds. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Louis Ingram; sons, John Charles O’Neill, and James Robert Ingram.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ingram Dinnel and husband, Scott ; son, Christopher J. Ingram and wife Mary; daughter-in-law, Carolyn O’Neill; sister, Jean Shuman; 8 grandchildren, Jack, Cathryn, Stephanie, Kinsey, Claire, Melissa, Josh, and Erica; 7 great-grandchildren,  Austin, Sierrah, Penelope, Caroline, Gigi, Faolan, Marigold, and two more great-granddaughters on the way.

We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Thrive Memory Care facility and Embrace Hospice for their loving care of our mother.

Memorial funeral services will be conducted 1:00 pm Saturday August 10, 2019 at the Reidsville United Methodist Church.  Inurnment will follow in the Brewton Cemetery.
