Edna (Harris) Leggett

Ms. Edna H. Leggett, age 89, passed away Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Center in Statesboro.  The Tattnall County native had lived in Claxton most of her life.  She was a homemaker that loved to work with her hands and do needle work.  She loved her pets, socializing and enjoyed helping people.  Ms. Edna was a member of Bull Creek Baptist Church and is preceded in death by her husband, Belton “Tony” Leggett.

She is survived by her children, Robert (Opal) Wellmaker of Bloomingdale, Linda VanHorn of North Carolina, Kathy Leggett, Deloris (Keith) Lewis all of Claxton; grandchildren, Sonya (Kelly) Crosby, Jeremy Seth Lewis, John Henry Lewis, Michele Lynn Rivera, Kevin Michael VanHorn, Anthony Wellmaker, and Amanda (Byron) Cook; eight great grandchildren also survive.

Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, January 11, 2015 from the Brewton Cemetery in Hagan with Mr. Lonnie Bradley officiating.  Interment will follow.
