Edsel Oryce Sikes

Edsel Oryce Sikes, age 91 passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his residence, surrounded by his family and under the care of Gentiva Hospice. He was a lifelong resident of Glennville, a graduate of Glennville High School and received a degree in Human Resources from the University of Georgia. He was a United States Navy veteran serving in World War II and retired from Civil Service at Fort Stewart. He was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan “GO DAWGS” and in his spare time, he enjoyed driving and would often just take off and go for a ride. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.H. and Sally Kennedy Sikes; sister, Reba Collins; brother, Billy Sikes.

He is survived by his siblings, Bobbie Kate Reeves and Mary Sikes Blocker both of Glennville; special nephew, Brandon Coursey of Glennville; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services will be private.

Low Country Cremation Services and Burial is serving the Sikes family.
