Edward “Joe” Fletcher, age 77 passed away Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Optim Medical Center in Reidsville. The Virginia native had lived in Maryland for many years before moving to Glennville 10 years ago. He was a US Air Force veteran and was retired from the Washington Post. He loved watching John Wayne movies and the Dallas Cowboys on television.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol Fletcher of Glennville; children, Betty (Patrick) Johnson, Sr. of PA; Edward "Le" Leon Fletcher, Jr. of FL, William "Bill" Joseph (Virginia Thompson) Fletcher of AZ and Connie J. Fletcher Stinnett of MD; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation will begin from 12:00pm-2:00pm, Monday, June 12, 2017 with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Glennville Funeral Home with Chaplain Patrick Johnson, Sr. officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors rendered by the US Air Force.
