Elias Flores

Reidsville,

Elias Flores, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 after a short illness at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia.  The native of Caracheo Cortazar Gto. Mexico moved to America when he was just 19 years old.  He was always a hard worker and achieved much success in America.  In fact, his success was recognized in Mexico by the group K-Temes de San Luis and a song was made to honor his life, “Corrido de Elias Flores”.  After working for over 50 years as a crew leader and owner of Flores Harvesting, he retired to enjoy some of his favorite hobbies including owning Plaza Guanajuato Rodeo Grounds.  The family will always remember him as a happy and loving person.   He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Maria Flores.

He is survived by his children, Roberto, Reyes, Elias Jr., Teresa, J. Socorro Nieves, and Miguel Flores all of Reidsville; twenty grandchildren; several great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial

Funeral Mass will be held beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at the chapel of Low Country Cremation & Burial with Father Vicinte officiating.

Interment will occur in Mexico at a future date.

Elias Flores, de 73 años, falleció el martes 19 de marzo de 2019 luego de una breve enfermedad en el Meadows Regional Medical Center en Vidalia. El nativo de Caracheo Cortazar Gto. México se mudó a América cuando tenía solo 19 años. Siempre fue un gran trabajador y logró mucho éxito en América. De hecho, su éxito fue reconocido en México por el grupo K-Temes de San Luis y se hizo una canción para honrar su vida, "Corrido de Elias Flores". Después de trabajar durante más de 50 años como jefe de equipo y propietario de Flores Harvesting, se retiró para disfrutar de algunos de sus pasatiempos favoritos, como ser propietario de Plaza Guanajuato Rodeo Grounds. La familia siempre lo recordará como una persona feliz y amorosa. Le precedieron en la muerte su esposa de 51 años, María Flores.

Le sobreviven sus hijos, Roberto, Reyes, Elias Jr., Teresa, J. Socorro Nieves y Miguel Flores, todos de Reidsville; veinte nietos; varios bisnietos; Numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos, y muchos amigos también sobreviven.

La visita está programada para las 12:00 p.m. hasta las 8:00 p.m. el miércoles 20 de marzo de 2019 en la capilla de Low Country Cremation & Burial

La misa fúnebre se llevará a cabo a las 5:00 p.m. el miércoles 20 de marzo de 2019 en la capilla de Cremación y entierro de bajo país, oficiando el padre Vicinte.

El entierro ocurrirá en México en una fecha futura.
