Glennville,
Mr. Elton M. Foster, born June 11, 1939 and passed Saturday, August 29, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Heartland Hospice. The Long County native was a graduate of Long County High School Class of 1957. He had lived most of his life in Long County except for eighteen years in Florida. Mr. Foster had served in the Georgia National Guard for eight years and retired from Fort Stewart Civil Service after serving twenty eight years. While in Florida he was employed with American Cyambind for fifteen years. He was also the owner and operator of Coastal Waterbeds for thirteen years and Foster Floor Coverings for twenty five years. He was a member of First United Pentecostal Church where he served on the Board of Governors and had taught many Bible Studies. He is preceded in death by his mother, Izola Blocker; father, Revis Blocker; son, John Derek Foster; sister, Elaine Blocker; brother, Cecil Blocker; and a sister, Jewel Burgans.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, RuthAnn Foster; sons, Danny (Jan) Foster and Randy (Shannon) Foster all of Glennville; brothers, Wilton (Paulene) Foster of Hinesville, JA Blocker of Glennville; sisters, Fredia (Richard) Long of Ludowici, Joyce (Bob) Beninati of Lake Worth, FL, and Margaret (Robert) Joyner of Glennville; grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Foster, Danielle (Franz) Long, Trevor (Amberly) Foster, Bailey Foster, Colby Foster, Gabriel Foster, Brianna Rutherford, Jonathan Rutherford, and Emily Hatfield; great grandchildren, Caitlyn Lowe, Preston Lowe, Lily Foster, Jadan Knight, Hunter Long, Miles Foster, and Maci Knight; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Monday from the First United Pentecostal Church in Glennville. The funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Tuesday also from the Church with the Reverends James Holland and Brad Pickren officiating. Interment will follow in the Revis Blocker Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tyron Joyner, Jason Long, Nathan Long, Steven Blocker, Jamie Blocker, Cale Blocker and Adam Blocker.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men of the First United Pentecostal Church, Rodney Hicks, CW Howard, Larry Flowers, Gerald Blocker, Ronnie DeLoach, Willie DeLoach, Jeff Rucker, and Rick Jones.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be given to the First United Pentecostal Church, 750 West Barnard Street, Glennville, GA 30427.
Low Country Cremation Services and Burial is serving the Foster family.
