Elvis Ray Hutchings, Sr. age 77 passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Candler Hospital. He was born in Cookesville, TN to the late Oscar and Lola Allison Hutchings. Mr. Ray served in Vietnam and was a retired US Army veteran. After his military career, he then worked and retired with the Forestry Branch at Fort Stewart. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Hutchings and a daughter, Cherie Shemwell.

He is survived by his children, Ray Hutchings, Jr. of Midway, Ruth Ann Hutchings of Midway and Allison (Tim) Johnson of Michigan; two sisters, 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives also survive.

Interment will be conducted 10:00am, Monday, May 21, 2018 at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with military honors rendered by the US Army.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Hutchings family.
