Evelyn (Alexander) Murphy

Mrs. Evelyn Alexander Murphy passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Oxley Park Health and Rehab in Lyons. Mrs. Evelyn was born July 24, 1933 and lived most of her life in the Collins Community.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she loved spending time with family and sharing stories of family and family history. A lifelong Jehovah Witness, she was a member of the Reidsville Congregation and enjoyed attending services and spending time with friends.
Mrs. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Susie Oliver Alexander and Roy Alexander and her husband James Wallace “J.W." Murphy; and a grandson, CJ Arthur.
She is survived by her children George (Dianne) Murphy Canton Ga. Frank (Lynn) Murphy of Collins, Jennie (Ronnie) Waller of Bloomingdale, GA, Mary Murphy  of Reidsville; grandchildren, Jeff (Ashley) Rusbridge, Brett (Tabitha) Warren, B.J. (Jenna) Warren, Adam Murphy, Beth Waters, Ethan Murphy, and Clint Wilds; twelve great grandchildren; special neighbors and friends, Gary and Janice Kennedy.

The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm Saturday, January 20, 2018 with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm from the Chapel of Low Country Cremation and Burial with the Speaker Floyd Mercer, Jr.  officiating.  Interment will follow in the Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Rusbridge, Brett Warren, B.J. Warren, Adam Murphy, Clint Wilds, and Keilyn Murphy.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders of the Reidsville Congregation of the Jehovah Witnesses.
