Fern Rosette (Moran) Shasteen

Fern Rosette Shasteen, age 82 passed away Friday, December 19, 2014 at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation. She attended Immanuel Christian Center in Hinesville. Mrs. Fern was born in Buckheart, Illinois and raised in Canton, Illinois. She was employed with the Illinois State Hospital for over 20 years where she met her husband, Hillard W. Shasteen. She then went on to retire from Kankakee State Hospital. In 1973, she moved with her family to McLeansboro, Illinois. Following the death of her husband Hillard in 2006, she moved to Georgia where she spent her last days at Glenvue Health and Rehabilitation under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillard W. Shasteen.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Karen) Shasteen of Allenhurst; grandchildren, Megan Bryant and Christy Shasteen of Hinesville; great-grandchildren, Jack Brown, Anayia Brown, Khloe Brown, Abrielle Forbes, Sierra Bryant, Taylar Bryant, Karina Bryant.

Visitation will begin at 4:00pm on Monday, December 22, 2014 with the funeral services to follow at 6:00pm at Immanuel Christian Center, 4727 Highway 196, Hinesville, with Elder Dennis Shasteen and the Reverend Kendall Paige officiating.  Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery McLeansboro, Illinois.
