Francis Joseph Lacey, Jr. “Frank” “Bubba”, age 31, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2020 at his residence. He was born on April 29, 1989 in Baltimore, Maryland to Francis Joseph Lacey, Sr and Karen Sue Merryman. His formative years were spent in and around the Claxton area. Leaving home to join the US Army; he would ultimately serve two tours in Afghanistan as a combat medic. His love for helping others did not end following his discharge from the Army. Frank would go on to become a nurse. His love of helping others was evident in the places he chose to work. Frank knew that everyone needed a caring medical professional, no matter their station in life; he would ply his talents at a range of facilities including Coastal Prison, Landmark Hospital, Brown’s Nursing Home, and Optim Sylvania. In his free-time he loved to travel, cook, and spend time entertaining friends. No matter where he was or what he was doing, you would be sure to find him dressed to the 9’s! A man that took great pride in himself, that saw the value in others, and was always there to lend a hand; he will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Lacey, grandfather, James Lacey, Sr. and a special aunt, Pam Osborne.
He is survived by his parents, Francis J. “Frank” Lacey, Sr and Karen (Wayne) Waters of Claxton; siblings, Michael Kreamer of Florida, Stephanie (Jamie)Diaz of Lyons, Brandi (Paul) Capone of Maryland, Kenneth James Lacey of Claxton and Whitney Waters of Collins; grandparents, Alice Lacy, Bunnie and John Clark, Jay and Esther Merryman, and Butch and Carolyn Kreamer all of Maryland; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 27, 2020 with the funeral services to follow at 3:00pm with Dr. Chuck Jonas officiating. Interment will be in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
