Fred W. “Bird Dog” Collins, Jr. age 60, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Regency SouthernCare Hospice. He was born in Ludowici on February 27, 1958 to Fred W. and Sara Yarborough Collins. He had lived in Long County for many years before moving to Glennville thirty years ago.  He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing, watching the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Falcons. He was preceded in death by his parents.  Fred W. Collins and Sara Swindelll; and a  step-brother, Mike Collins.

He is survived by his sisters, Elvie (Johnny) Powell and Kathy Collins all of Glennville; several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday beginning at 6:00pm at the funeral home.  Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from the Chapel of Glennville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Pigot Branch Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be DeWayne Powell, Ken Moon, Dylan Duffany, Noah Duffany, Kenny Moon and Stafford Stelly.
