Gary Stephen Dorough was called home to the Lord on September 18, 2015 at his home in Lizella, Georgia. Gary was born in Washington, DC on May 20, 1950 and was raised in Silver Spring, MD. His artistic abilities led him to his 25-year career with NBC. He was employed as a draftsman and as an audio/visual technician. Gary resided in Nokesville, VA on his family’s farm where he raised his family. He retired and moved back to his family roots in Macon, GA. He is the son of his predeceased parents, Leroy and Mable Dorough.

Gary had a very magnetic personality, and will be remembered for his contagious smile and fun-loving ways. He had a deep appreciation for all music, and had collected a vast library of vinyl recordings. Gary would often quote song lyrics while in a conversation with his friends and family. Anyone who knew Gary will always remember him and his quick wit, willingness to listen and offer a warm embrace. And of course, Gary’s impeccable charm.

Gary is survived by his wife, Wendi; two daughters, Aimee and Deborah; brother, Wayne; son-in-law, Mathew; and two granddaughters, Scarlet and Addison.

Gary’s memorial service is scheduled to take place at 1:00pm on October 3, 2015 at the New Life Church located on 4689 Ivey Drive, Macon, GA.

A small reception will be held at the Dorough Home following the service for immediate family and close friends.

Low Country Cremation services and Burial is serving the Dorough family.
