Geraldine Elizabeth (Thompson) Prestage

Geraldine Elizabeth Prestage, age 85 passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014, at home surrounded by family, and under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice . She was born March 13, 1929, in Toombs County.  She was the daughter of Lewis Thompson and Azilee Rauton Thompson. She was a 1946 graduate of Reidsville High School.  She married Horace Watson Prestage Sr. on August 24, 1949. She was a homemaker, and a loving and caring mother of 6 children, a grandmother of 5, and a great grandmother of 7.  She lived most of her life in Reidsville, Ga.   She was a faithful member of Reidsville Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband- Horace W Prestage Sr., Father and Mother - Lewis and Azilee Thompson, brothers- Juanez Thompson, Paul Thompson, William Thompson, and Jerry Thompson.

She is survived by her children- Diane Prestage, Watson Prestage, Dale Prestage,  Anita Prestage, Ronald Prestage, and Donald Prestage, her sisters- Joyce Anderson, Sandra Laakso, and Editha Brigman, her grandchildren, great- grandchildren, special caregivers, Becky Anderson and Christine Cooper, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm on Monday from the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory.  Funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Tuesday, August 12, 2014 from the Reidsville Baptist Church with the Reverends Steve Miller and Artis Carswell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.  Mrs. Prestage will lie in state beginning at 2:00pm at the Church.

Pallbearers will be Chad Kennedy, Daniel Brazell, Ben Harbin, Daniel Anderson, Brooks Brigman and Jerome Lynn.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Spanish Oaks Hospice Staff.
