Gladys (Jarriel) Blackburn

Mrs. Gladys J. Blackburn age 76 passed away Wednesday July 17, 2013 at the Tattnall Health Care with her son, Scott by her side.  The Lyons native had lived in Reidsville most of her life.  She was a Restaurant Manager for several local establishments including the Burger Box.  She loved to tend to her flowers, canning vegetables, and reading.  Mrs. Gladys was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Lena Jarriel; and her husband, Steve R. Blackburn.

She is survived by her children, Jeff Saggus of South Port, NC, Scott and Angie Saggus of Reidsville, and Stephanie Keen of Keller, GA; sisters, Mary Frances Hankins of Wilmington Island and Ruby C. Wilson of Perry; grandchildren, Melissa Saggus, Hannah Saggus, Hailey Saggus, Emiley Hayden Saggus, Catherine Lauren Kirk and Charles Thomas Kirk IV; two great grandchildren, Joey and AJ; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Friday from the Reidsville Chapel.  Funeral services will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, July 20, 2013 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson with the Reverends Jeff Saggus, Wes Collins and Allen Rea.

Pallbearers will be Art Holmes, Austin Debevec, Brian A. Hill, Shane Cowart, and Travis McCall
