Byron, GA.

Glenda Sue Hill, age 59, passed away on May 14, 2019 at Navicent Health in Macon GA.  The Macon native never ventured far from her home and chose to raise her family within 30 miles of her birthplace.  She was known by all to be a kind-hearted, very caring, and simple lady.  There was nothing that she wouldn’t do for those she loved and cared about.  As such, her family was very close nit.  After raising her children, she found new joys in her grandchildren.  There was rarely a time when she wasn’t with one or both of them.  Whenever she was apart from her family, she always found time to have long and meaningful phone conversations with them.  Keeping her family connected was of utmost importance to her.  Glenda wanted her family happy, so she would often be found shopping for “deals” for them.  She often joked that her husband, Kenny, would “kill me if he knew how much I spent”!  No matter how busy her family got, they always made time to focus on the Lord.  She loved watching Shepard’s Chapel on Christian television and attending her church, Evangelistic House of Prayer.  When she became unable to attend in person, her brother John would call her on the phone, and they would tune into Mable White broadcast on television.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Lynwood Upshaw and Frankie Marie Mimbs and two sisters, Angela Marie Evans and Beverly Diane Huff.  In the end, she fought like crazy, but her body was tired, and she was ready to be with the Lord.  She will be deeply missed by many.

Left to cherish the memories they made together in this life are her husband, Kenneth “Kenny” Hill of Byron; children, Chuck Hill and Michelle (George Graham) Hill both of Byron; grandchildren, Kassie Hill and Jasmine Graham; brothers, John (Tina) Upshaw and Joseph Upshaw; sister, Mary Elaine (E.W.) Collins; long-time best friend Donna (Ken) Parker; chosen God-daughter, Chasinee Wilder; numerous other relatives, friends, and church family also survives.
