Glenda Partin

Glenda Partin, age 73, passed away on Monday, January 30, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia.  She was born on August 21, 1949, to Richard Thomas and Geneva Clark and spent her formative years in Wayne County.  Glenda would go on to graduate from Wayne County High School in 1968 and would further her education at both Brewton Parker College and Tift College.  Her years of post-secondary studies would reward her with a Master of Education.  Following college, she would go on to apply her skills in educating countless students in the Toombs County School system.  After a lengthy career, Glenda closed that chapter of her life in 2012.  The life of an educator is quite demanding, but she would unwind doing a few of her favorite pastimes; sewing, dancing, and reading.  The most cherished times of her life, however, was the time she could spend with her family.  No matter if it were cooking up a meal for the family to enjoy or attending various activities with them, she relished every moment.  A life that impacted thousands of young minds over the years, her life was a blessing of giving to others; she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.  Glenda is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 30 years, Earl Partin; and a stepson in law, Keith Gillis.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her three children; Debbie (Chris) Tucker, Sissy Grantham, and Jennifer (Andy) Coursey; four stepchildren, Sheila (Garry) NeeSmith, Lester (Alicia) Partin, Lisa Gillis, and Kirby Partin; eleven grandkids; nine great-grandkids; several brother, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Edmund Chapel Church of God.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 4, 2023, beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Danny Zorn officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Dana Denmark, Roman Davis, Tim Brooks, Codie Guthrie, Logan Tucker, and Chris Howell.
