Gordon Spencer Raulerson was born in Pierce County on January 25th, 1944.  He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on December 28, 2021, at Satilla Hospice house following a sudden illness. Gordon was born to the late Inez Howard and Bascom Raulerson, Sr.  He graduated from Patterson High School in 1962 and would go on to attend Florida State College and Troy University. Following his education, Gordon enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and would serve a tour in Vietnam. He would return home to begin his life where Phyllis Clark and Gordon would be wed on December 24, 1970. The couple would cherish over 51 years of marriage, which would bless them with three children.  Gordon leaves a legacy of love and devotion and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Left to celebrate a life well lived is his wife, Phyllis Raulerson; three children, Marie (Ian) Dennison, Heather Sweat and Howard Ben Raulerson; six grandchildren, Brentz Sweat (Lauren Sweat), Blaise Sweat, Hunter Sweat (Lexi Crews), Haley Sweat (Zach Moye), Cade Dennison and Chloe Dennison; five great grandchildren, Brenslie Smith, Briggs Sweat, Brenton Sweat, Holland Sweat and Carleigh Moye; other relatives and friends also survive.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at the family home, 5955 Owens Road Patterson, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Graveside funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Laura Chapel Cemetery, 4814 Laura Chapel Road, Patterson GA.

The family would like to thank Dr. Don Waters and the entire staff of Southeast Georgia Regional Hospital (Brunswick) CCU and ER departments and Satilla Hospice House for their exceptional care during Gordon's last days.

Any arrangements can be sent to the family home, and in lieu of flowers the family would be honored by memorial donations to Satilla Hospice House in Gordon’s memory.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is serving the Raulerson family.
