Mr. Harold "Sonny" Andersen, age 83, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia, GA. The Princeton, IL native moved to Blandinsville, IL where he lived for 16 years with his wife, Dee. They moved down to Lyons, GA two years ago. He was a self-employed mechanic in Illinois. Sonny will be remembered as a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a great friend. He especially enjoyed taking care of his second wife. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Helen Andersen; a child and two step-daughters, Carla Carlson and Dorothia Henry.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Dorothy "Dee" Andersen of Lyons, GA; children, Allan "Alvin" (Rhonda) Carlson of Hortense, GA; Rick Andersen of Oquaco, IL; Helen Stroops of Bardolph, IL; Mary Ann Hughes of Macomb, IL and Marilyn Goddard of Bardolph, IL; mother-in-law, Margaret Moulton and sister-in-law, Sharon Krohn both of Lyons, GA; grandchildren, James (Shelina) Rogers of Brunswick, GA; Chelsea Harris of Hortense, GA; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Rogers, Madison Rogers, Lennox Rogers, Sophia Rogers of Brunswick, GA and Briar Harris of Hortense, GA. and lots of other grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Illinois.

The family will have a memorial service at their home in Lyons, GA on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 2:00pm.
