Reidsville GA,
Mr Harry Crews, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah surrounded by his family. The lifelong resident of Reidsville was a beloved fixture in and around Tattnall County. Known by all to be one of the most kind-hearted men you would ever meet; he was willing to share anything he had. Most notably, he had an affinity for gardening; his bountiful harvests would find their way to countless homes around the county. As many can attest, if you came by his home, you would never leave empty handed. During his working years, he held many jobs including working as a logger, for the City of Reidsville, and for Tom Colvin before finding his true passions in retirement. He certainly loved fishing and his Georgia Bulldogs, but nothing could hold a candle to his family. With such a large family, he kept a very busy schedule attending and supporting his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren’s various sporting events and other school activities. Although he loved his hometown, he was always eager to accompany his family to the most “magical place on earth”, Walt Disney World. Mr. Harry is a member of Elza Baptist Church. A man you could count on, a heart you could rely on, and joyful spirit you could depend on; his passing will leave a void that is impossible to fill. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Etta Crews; wife of 68 years, Inez Crews; a son-in-law, Jerry Cowart; a granddaughter, Hannah Collins; siblings, Bell Murray, Nell Gore, Cleo Merritt, Helen Stripling, Loree Smith, Glenes Gay, Wilma Crews, Willie Mills, Ruby Hutcheson, Harvey Crews and Perry Crews.
He is survived by his children, Brenda C. McCumber, Janice C. Cowart, Kenneth (Debbie) Crews, Roger (Joy) Crews, Melanie C. Lewis, David (Phyllis) Crews, Pam C. (Glenn) Shuman, Mark (Marika) Crews, Tammy C. (Billy) Collins and Dean Crews; grandchildren, Kelly McCumber, Brandy Crews, Shelly M. Watts, Lori C.
