Hazel (Jeffers) McCall

Hazel Jeffers McCall was born in Tattnall County, Georgia on February 4, 1933 and passed away on July 11, 2017, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.  She graduated from Reidsville High School and worked in Macon and Lyons before marrying the love of her life.  Hazel Jeffers McCall and Robert C. McCall married on December 17, 1955 by eloping.  Bobby McCall preceded Hazel in death in 2002, after 47 years of marriage.  Hazel missed him and spoke of him daily.  After losing her husband, Ms. McCall retired from farming and nursery ownership.  She moved to Loganville, Georgia to be near her daughters and grandchildren, where she happily lived the remainder of her life experiencing new experiences, making new friends and being with her family.

Ms. McCall is survived by her three daughters, Joy McCall Purvis (Fred) of Loganville, Jill McCall Mathis of Athens and Judy McCall Manus of Athens; grandchildren, Nicholas Kyle Purvis, Madison Nicole Purvis and McCall Rose Manus, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

Hazel enjoyed playing cards with her card buddies, bingo, growing flowers and singing in her church choir, was active in the UMW, Welcomers, Care Cell Ministry and the Joy Sunday School Class.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 13, 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14 at Low Country Cremation & Burial in Reidsville at 10:00 am with the Reverend Jerry Meredith officiating.  Burial will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery next to her soul mate.

Pallbearers will be Jerold McCall, John McCall, Jim McCall, Mike Jeffers, Van McCall, and Orel Sharpe.

A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, July 15 at Loganville First United Methodist Church at 11:00am.
