HENRY GARY WALKER
Henry Gary Walker, 78, of Savannah GA and formerly of Reidsville, GA, was born Dec. 23, 1935 in Tattnall County, GA and passed away October 3, 2014 in Stockbridge, GA. He was the son of Judge Henry Owen Walker and Susie McNear Walker Smith. He was married to Elizabeth Johnston Walker, also of Savannah and formerly of Reidsville, for over 56 years.
He served in the United States Army. Gary was Deputy Commissary Officer at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. He was a member of Reidsville United Methodist Church, Reidsville Lions Club, and the Masonic Lodge (Rising Sun Masonic Lodge #32). Gary also served as an Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 930 of Reidsville, GA.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, his sons, their spouses and grandchildren, Kent (Diane) Walker, Kaley, Kent Jr. and Tyler; and Mark (Amy) Walker, McGarrah and Owen. He leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Larry (Gail) Walker, children and grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother and sister-in-law, and several nieces and nephews: Felix (Judy) Johnston and family, Mary (Marty) Ward and family.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory beginning at 6:00pm.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Monday, October 5, 2014 from the Reidsville United Methodist Church with the Reverend Marc Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Walker, Jeremy Walker, Billy Walker, Kent Walker, Jr., Tyler Walker and Nick Johnston
