Mrs. Hilda “Louise” Lynn Whitaker, age 86, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born June 16, 1931 in Montgomery County to William and Zelma Taylor Lynn.  She had lived most of her life in Tattnall County.  Mrs. Louise worked for many years as a seamstress, loved gardening and feeding her chickens and hogs.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Wallace Whitaker; son in laws, Charles Rhoden and Aaron Glisson; siblings, Lewis Lynn and Myra Gagnon.

She is survived by her children, Gloria Glisson of Reidsville and Billy R. (Jerrie) Whitaker of Collins; sisters, Irma Lloyd of Waycross, Betty Slater of Oak Park, and Mary Fennell of Reidsville; grandchildren, Tina R. (Chris) Edwards, Tammy R. (Mark) Durrence, Wallace C. (Tammy) Rhoden, Michelle (Joey) Crews, Tanner Whitaker and Georgi Banks; great grandchildren, Brittany Lynn, Dylan Durrence, Ryan Renfroe, Tori Padgett, Charla Durrence, Trinton Rhoden, Toby Rhoden, Talib Rhoden, Chase Edwards, and Alicia Quarles; great great granddaughters, Elena and Lily Lynn, Hadley and Presley Padgett, Katrina, Mallory, and Deanna Norton; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 22, 2018 beginning at 6:00pm from the Reidsville Baptist Church.  Funeral services will be conducted 4:00pm,  Friday, February 23, 2018 at the Reidsville Baptist Church with the Reverends Dr. Chuck Jonas and Marc Foster and Mr. John Wingate officiating. Interment will be in the Reidsville City Cemetery.
