Homer Durrence

Mr. Homer Durrence age 80, passed away Thursday morning February 28, 2013 at Evans Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. Mr. Durrence was a native of Tattnall County and had lived in Reidsville all of his life.

He was a graduate of the University of Georgia having earned a degree in Forestry. He was a lifelong farmer and a former Tattnall County Commissioner. Mr. Durrence is on the Farm Bureau Board of Directors where he served for over 50 plus years. He was a member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church and Rising Sun Lodge #32 F&A.M. Mr. Durrence is preceded in death by his parents, Henry H. and Beatrice Durrence and a son Henry H. Durrence Jr.

Mr. Durrence is survived by his son and daughters-in- law Dennis and Glenda Durrence of Reidsville and Susan Durrence of Statesboro; sister June Smith of Reidsville; aunt, Joan Haynes of Texas; special friend Tana Mohler of Oak Park; five grandchildren Heith Durrence of San Diego, California; Dustin and Mandy Durrence of Statesboro; Maria Anderson of Hazelhurst; and Brett Hutcheson of Reidsville. Ten great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Homer Durrence will be conducted Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home, Reidsville Chapel with Rev. Marc Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening beginning at 6p.m.

Pallbearers will be Jerry McCumber, Buford Durrence, Mike Clark, Perry Collins, Kenny Clark, and Greg Clark.
