Glennville
Homer J. Fields, Jr, age 70, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Optim Medical Center Tattnall Hospital. Homer James Fields Jr. was born on October 24, 1951, in Pompano Beach, Florida to the late Homer and Rosia Bell Fields.
He attended Charles R. Drew Elementary School and Graduated from Blanche Ely High School. While there he was a member of the Ely High marching band. During his professional career he worked for Wayne Durrence Mobile Homes and also in the automotive industry.
Music was his passion, and he loved his guitar. Homer was a member of the Jackson Southernaries and Deliverance Gospel Group. He also played for numerous churches’ and sing and played with other gospel groups.
He loved church and was a God-fearing man. He was a member of the Apostle Faith Church of Jesus, Inc. under the leadership of Bishop Clarence Ray Jr. of Pompano Beach, Florida. Later in life he moved to Glennville, GA. He became a member at Holy Temple Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Pastor Dexter and Jackee Edwards where he was later ordained as a Deacon.
He left to celebrate a lifetime of love and memories two daughters, Lahoma (Tracy) McKeithen of Glennville and Natasha Neal of Deerfield Beach, FL; step-daughter, Penny Collins of Glennville; four sons, Marcus (Tiffany) Lewis of Coral Springs, FL, Phillip (Latonya) Fields of Statesboro, Zachary (Ashayla) Fields of Glennville, and Bryan (Marcella) Porter of Statesboro, GA ; 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; four sisters, Claudia Wright of Pompano Beach FL, Alice Harris of Hinesville, Cynthia Queen of Pompano Beach and Silleree (Howard) Mallory of Delray Beach, FL; two brothers, Eugene Fields of Pompano Beach FL and Benjamin (Al’ecia) Fields of Apopka FL; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins. Special friends, Ervin & Norma Jean Walker, Frankie & Jean Owens & Niecy Overton. Special thanks to Daniel Cooper for always looking out and being supportive to Homer and also a special thanks to Tracy Mckeithen for being a loving and very supportive son n law
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, October 14, 2022, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Glennville Funeral Home.
The Homegoing Celebration will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2002, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at White Pines Community Holiness Church, 226 Akins Road, Glennville GA with Rev. Dexter Edwards delivering the Eulogy.
Interment will follow at Glennville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and relatives alike for a repast celebration of Homer’s life immediately following the interment at the social hall of White Pines Community Holiness Church.
