Obituary
Howard Brown, Jr., 54
, passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at Candler Hospital in Savannah after a short illness surrounded by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his brother Wallace Brown and an uncle Wilson Brown.
He was a native of Waynesboro, Georgia but had lived in Savannah for the past 25 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served for 13 years. He was employed by Chatham Steel and the City of Savannah. He enjoyed sports and listening to gospel music. He was known for bragging on his kids and kept a smile on his and everyones face. He attended The Sanctuary of Savannah.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years Betty Brown of Savannah; his mother, Ella Fair Brown of Augusta; two sons, Howard “Jay” Brown of Augusta, Jeremy Phillip Brown of Savannah; four daughters, Rachel Brown of Savannah, April Brown of Athens, Cinnamon and Hope Brown of Savannah; brother, Willie Brown of Augusta; sisters, Lizze Bush, Annie Belle Thomas, and Carrie Brown all of Augusta and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 30, 2011, at The Sanctuary of Savannah.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 at The Sanctuary of Savannah, burial will follow 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2011 in the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville.
