Hubert Padgett

Hubert Padgett, age 80, passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice.  He was born April 18, 1939 to Duncan and Gladys Padgett in Lyons, GA.  He had lived in Reidsville most of his life where he was the owner of Padgett Well Drilling.  Mr. Padgett enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, watching wrestling, cooking and gardening.  He attended Church of God of Prophecy and was preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald Padgett; grandchildren, Robert Powell, Jr, Felisha Powell, Crystal Mulling, and Kyle Floyd; great granddaughter, Lacy Ansell and a great-great grandson, Brayden Palmer; siblings, Robert Padgett and Johnnie Mae Rogers.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Grace Padgett; children, Nancy (Michael) Overcash, Patricia Burnham, and Martha (Tommy) Clark all of Reidsville; siblings, Lizzie Bell (Eugene) Edwards of Reidsville, Roy Padgett of Lyons, Roger Padgett and Duncan Padgett, Jr. both of Reidsville; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

There will be a drop in viewing on Sunday from the hours of 6:00pm and 8:00pm at the funeral home.  Graveside funeral services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday, April 6, 2020 at the Reidsville City Cemetery with the Brother Robert Powell officiating.
