Obituary

Hugh B. Roberts age 74 passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family and under the care of Hospice Savannah. He was a native of Bulloch County, a 1959 graduate of Statesboro High School and lived most of his life in Savannah. Hugh was a loving father, husband and was a member of The Sanctuary of Savannah. He was a retired firefighter with the City of Savannah after 32 ½ years of service. In his spare time, he enjoyed fly fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roxie Roberts of Savannah; two sons, Kenneth Roberts of Savannah and Shannon (Kathy) Roberts of Jesup; sister, Myrtice (Robert) Parrish; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Visitation and Funeral Services

Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Thursday, December 27, 2012 with funeral services to follow at 7:00pm both at The Sanctuary of Savannah with Dr. Larry McDaniel and Dr. Hugo Hammond officiating.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Memorial Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Baxley, GA.
