~OBITUARY~~~
Mrs. Idonia M. Miller passed away 0n Wednesday evening, July 29, 2020 after a lengthy illness. She was born on December 12, 1935 to the parentage of Mr. John and Mrs. Anna Miller of Reidsville, Georgia. At an early age, Idonia joined Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church and served in different capacities including Church Clerk, until her health would not permit her to continue in service. However, Idonia remained a dedicated member and always paid her tithe and gave offerings to the Church.
Idonia was educated in the public schools of Tattnall County Georgia, and received an Associate Degree in Nursing from the Bronx Community School of Nursing, Bronx, New York. Idonia applied her skills in nursing by working and serving at different places which include Georgia State Prison and Tattnall Healthcare Center in Reidsville, Georgia. Idonia loved her family and friends and was always willing to help, encourage, and comfort wherever she could.
Idonia was the mother of one daughter, Felita Miller, and two sons, Donnie and Joe Lester Miller. Felita and Donnie preceded her in death, along with her grandsons Antione Young and Malcolm Reid Williams. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Mr. John and Mrs. Anna Miller, five brothers, Mr. Jessie W. Summersett, Mr. Sam Summersett, Mr. Willis Summersett, Mr. John Miller, Jr, and Mr. David (DC) Miller; three sisters, Mrs. Ada Bell Surrency, Mrs. Mollie Ruth Jackson, and Mrs. Callie Will Byrd.
Idonia loved her family, church and nature. She spent many hours preparing food for her family and church and gardening, canning and fishing. Idonia leaves to cherish her memories her beloved son, Joe Lester (Betty) Miller of Reidsville, Georgia, grandchildren, Ms. Tiara Young of Vidalia, Delores Small, Johnny Williams, Jerry Williams, and Gary Williams all of Reidsville, Mary Jane Williams and Willie Williams both of Lyons and a great, great grandson, Kairan Young of Vidalia, Georgia. Three beloved and devoted nieces, Mrs. Wynell Johnson and Mrs. Dorothia Frazier of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mrs. Arwilda McLeod of Vidalia Georgia, a loving and devoted friend and caregiver, Mrs. Harriet B. Hayes of Collins, Georgia, and her beloved nephew and Pastor, Rev. Roy L. Summersett of Reidsville, Georgia along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, Monday, August 3, 2020 at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00am, Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Ogden Mills Cemetery with the Reverend Roy Summerset officiating.
