Obituary
Mrs. Ina Lee Souther Clark Nix
was born in Union
County, GA. on March 30, 1920 and passed away
Friday, February 10, 2012 at the Bethany Nursing
Center in Vidalia. She retired from J.D. Jewell, Inc.,
in Gainesville, GA. She was a homemaker and very
loving mother and grandmother to many. She was a
member of Free Chapel Worship Center in Gainesville
and was an elder member of the Eastern Band of the
Cherokee Indians of Cherokee, NC.
She was preceded
in death by her two husbands, Dwight M. Clark and Paul
W. Nix; her
parents, Luther and Dora Cole Souther; two
brothers, Harford and Vaughn Souther; four
sisters, Delphia
Collins, Myrtle Allison, Deva Coker, and Maybelle King.
She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Melva Clark Akins
and her husband, Vernon of Gainesville, Kathy Nix Sanders and her
husband Wendell of Reidsville. Step-children, Laverne and her husband
Carl Cook, Brenda and her husband Birch Wood all of New Port, TN;
Tina and her husband Frank Vanderpool of Vacaville, CA; Sister, Ella Dyer of
Blairsville, GA; Grandchildren,
David Akins of Gainesville, Shane and Canda
Arnold of Reidsville,
Christy Durrence of Glennville, Kimberly and Eddie King of
Reidsville,
Michael Willis of Eatonton, GA; Special Friend, Priscilla Costen of Collins;
Sixteen great-grandchildren, four great- great-grandchildren, several nieces
and nephews also survive.
Visitation and Funeral Services
Visitation will begin at 6:00pm Sunday, February 12, 2012 from the Reidsville Chapel.
Funeral Services will be conducted 3:00pm Monday, February 13, 2012 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Reverend Andrew Nelms and Pastor Bill Brannon officiating. Interment will follow in the Reidsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vernon Akins, David Akins, Shane Arnold, Stephen Arnold, Joshua Kennedy, Eddie King
