Obituary
Ms. Irene Ida Lucas White
,
age 83, passed away Tuesday,
January 11, 2011 at Liberty Regional Medical Center. Ms.
Irene was born November 24, 1927 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania
and was raised in Brookville, Pennsylvania. She moved to Florida
in the early 1950’s where she was co-owner in several businesses.
She enjoyed fishing, crafting and spending time with her family.
Irene was employed with the Florida Public School system for 22
years and during that time she was known to many children as
“Grandma”. She loved animals and usually had at least one by her
side. She was a very independent lady that was always willing to help
a friend or anyone that may have needed a hand. Irene will be greatly
missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She is preceded
in death by her husband, Earl G. White, Jr., of Florida, her parents,
Brosious C. Lucas and Marie Rhodes; two brothers, Robert (Bob)
Lucas, Lloyd Lucas and a sister, Betty Lucas all of Pennsylvania.
She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-laws, Donald
and Donna Knapp of Dixon, Missouri, Roger and Cynthia Knapp of
Hinesville, GA. Brother, Art Lucas of Merritt Island, Florida. Sister,
Mary L. Knapp of Brookville, Pennsylvania. Many grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services
Memorial Services and inurnment will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.

Non-Profit Hospice of Savannah.
