Irma Jean (Baldwin) Powell

Irma Jean Baldwin Powell , age 70, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at her residence.  The Mendes native had lived in Savannah and New York, prior moving back to this area twenty five years ago.  She was a homemaker that loved to rescue animals and spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.  Mrs. Powell attended Pembroke Holiness Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sue Nell Burkhalter Baldwin; siblings, Doris Hammock, and Gene Baldwin; her husbands, Phillip King, Sr. and Larry Carnell.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Powell, Sr. of Reidsville; children, Theresa (Russell) Warren of Hawkinsville, Phillip E. King, II of Ridgeland, SC, Margaret Sue King of Guyton, and Blake William Carnell of Warner Robbins; step son, Kenneth (Suzanne) Powell, Jr. of Reidsville; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends on Friday beginning at 6:00pm from the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be conducted 10am Saturday, November 7, 2015 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the Reverend Perry Powell officiating.  Interment will follow in the Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.
