Jack Lee Swoveland, age 75 passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at Pine Pointe Hospice Facility in Macon. He was a native of Wilshire, Ohio and had lived in Dry Branch, Georgia for the past 25 years. He was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Jack was a retired lifelong truck driver for over 40 years, driving many million miles across the country in his Peterbilt truck. After retiring, he truly loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ted Swoveland, Chuck Swoveland, Billy Swoveland and Gary Swoveland.
He is survived by his special friends, Jeff and Kim McElhaney of Dry Branch, Georgia; sons, Bryan Swoveland of Latexo, Texas, John (Doris) Swoveland of Jeffersonville, Georgia; daughters, Cindy (Shane Chason) Lanier of Crawfordville, Florida, Erin (James) Stubbs of Panacea, Florida; brother, Tom (Betty) Swoveland of Uniopolis,Ohio; sisters, Mary (Darrell) Brodbeck, Linda (Eddie) Henderson, Sue Moyler all of Ohio; sister-in-law, Shirley Swoveland of Berne, Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
In honor of Jack, family and friends are invited to attend a farewell luncheon beginning at 3:00pm Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 57 Shortstop Cafe.
Memorial Services will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Jeffersonville Baptist Church. Everyone is invited to attend a reception following the service.
At Jack's wishes, memorials may be made to Egleston Children's Hospital in Atlanta, GA. in honor of his great-granddaughter, Arianna Nicole Moore.
