Glennville,
Jackie Ann Barnard, age 67, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Reidsville on March 7, 1953 to Jack and Bernie Wilds Wilson. Her entire childhood was spent in Reidsville, but little did she realize the places that her future would lead her to. On August 27, 1971 Jackie would marry the love of her life, Charles Barnard. A few months after they married Charles joined the military and as such, the pair would live in many places around the globe. Following his separation from active duty, the couple would go on to become missionaries in the Philippines. Later in life, Jackie stepped into the role of a Pastor’s wife, once again the couple would serve in various places around the country. In total, they would live in 62 different places, the most recent being their retirement dream home in Glennville. Throughout the years, her passion has been serving the Lord and her actions certainly reflected what was in her heart. Daily, she would devote time to Bible studies, and she was active with the Harvest Free Will Baptist Child Care Ministries and her local Freewill Baptist Church. Even her music reflected her love of the Lord; she was a fan of Elvis’ gospel music. One whom literally knew no limits in her devotion to her husband and dedication to spreading the good news of Jesus Christ, we can rest assured that Jackie has gained eternal glory. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shanna Barnard Davis; brothers, Bobby, Wayne, and Charles Wilson.
She is survived by her soul mate of 50 years, Rev. Charles Barnard of Glennville; son, Jeffrey Barnard of NC; siblings, Dale Wilson, Randy Wilson, and Kathy Harper all of Reidsville; grandchildren, Shayla (Matthew) Powell of Glennville, Howie, Charlie, and Brighten Barnard all of NC; great grandson, Rowan Everett Powell; special cousin, Herman Stubbs of Reidsville; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00 pm on Wednesday at the Glennville Funeral Home. Graveside funeral services will be conducted 11:00am Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Reidsville City Cemetery with the Reverends Richard Barnard and Roger Mercer officiating.
