Dublin
Jacquelyn “Jacque” Doreatha Mallory-Coleman, age 80 went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 after a brief residence in Southland Nursing Home in Dublin, Georgia. She was born in Dublin, Georgia but lived most of her adult life in Rhone County, Tennessee. She was devoted to her family, church, and Savior. She was active in her local church and loved to share her musical talents whether it was singing, directing a church choir, playing the piano or organ, or organizing and directing a children's program at the local school. She taught piano lessons to many and loved singing hymns. While Jacque was active in the local church, she also worked hard to support her family. She worked in a local sewing factory, became a welder, and eventually retired from Roane County Courthouse. She had a fabulous sense of humor yet could become an immovable force when she was fighting for something in which she believed. Jacque was an avid gardener. When she was not busy helping a neighbor, she could be found either reading or working in her yard. She loved her family fiercely. She was preceded in death by her parents, Matt and Lucille Mallory, her twin brother, Jack, and her sons, Billy and George Coleman.
While Jacque rejoices with her Savior, she will be deeply missed by her surviving children, Robyn and James and by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors.
Two Memorial Services are planned. One will be held in Tennessee at Shiloh Baptist Church on 24 February 2018 at 2 P.M. and the other in Dublin, Georgia on 3 March 2018 at 3 P.M. at the home of Janice and Charles Nipper, 522 Tomahawk Trail.
Jacque’s family would like to thank the staff of Addington Place, Serenity Hospice and Southland Nursing & Rehab Home for the care they have given her.
In Jacque’s honor and in lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, a charity to fight against elder abuse, your local church, or simply make a conscious effort to reach out in kindness to someone in need and make their day a little brighter.
