Obituary

Mr. James “Buck” Kirkland age 81, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.

The Bulloch County native had lived in Evans County most of his life. He was a farmer and of the Baptist Faith. He loved fishing and playing with his grandchildren. Mr. Kirkland is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Sandra Kirkland, parents, Maner and Lula Kirkland; daughter, Sandy Kirkland; sister, Lalia Whitaker; great granddaughter, Madison Rose.

He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Kirkland of Bellville. Five sons & daughters-in-law, Dwane & Tammy Kirkland of Louiville, KY., Jerry & Jeannie Kirkland of Brunswick, Jimmy & Wilda Kirkland of Reidsville, Roger & Brandie Kirkland of Claxton, Joey Kirkland of Bellville. Sisters, Beatrice Blocker of Glennville, Jeanette Rushing of Register, Jean Kicklighter of Claxton, Ann Kirkland of Reidsville. Brothers, Loyd Kirkland of Statesboro, Clifford Kirkland of Reidsville, Talmadge Kirkland of Sacramento, CA, Gary Kirkland of Vidalia. Ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation and Services

Visitation will begin 6:00pm Saturday, January 30, 2010 from the Reidsville Chapel.

Funeral Services will be conducted 3:00pm Sunday ,January 31, 2010 from the Reidsville Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Green and Elder Jimmy Haire officiating. Interment will follow in the Brewton Cemetery in Hagan.
