Mr. James May, age 77 passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro. He was born September 28, 1943 in Farmville, NC and had lived in 18 different states before settling in Glennville in 1995. He had worked for over 50 years in the Telephone Construction Industry. Mr. James enjoyed deep sea fishing and faithfully attended the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Hope and Ollie Beamon May; siblings, Henry Hope May Jr., Robert May and Dorothy Tugwell.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years Mrs. Carolyn May of Glennville; step son, Jeff (Kelly) Moye of Ohio, a sister, Juanita Taylor of North Carolina; 4 step grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 2, 2021 with the funeral services to follow at 2:00pm from the Chapel of the Glennville Funeral Home with the Reverends James Holland and Brad Pickren officiating. Interment will follow in the Glennville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Strenth, Tom Crook, Steve Stiegman, Matthew Strenth, Clayton Moye, Grady Willoughby.
Memorials may be given to the Glennville First United Pentecostal Church.
