James Clifford McBride

James C. McBride, age 95, passed on to Heaven on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Candler Hospital after a short illness. He was born August 11, 1920 in Fayette County, Georgia. During his long working career, he retired after 30 years from the Atlanta Army Depot as well as 20 years of service from Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church. James was a member and Deacon at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Savannah. He is preceded in death by his son, James Brent McBride.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Biggers McBride; 2 daughters, Connie McBride and Rebecca McBride; 4 grandchildren, Tricia (Danny) Johnston, Chad (Leanne) McBride, Ryan Harmon, and Caitlyn Porter; 10 great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 6:00 pm-8:00 pm. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, 401 Quarterman Drive Savannah GA 31410. Memorial funeral services will be held immediately following at 8:00 p.m. also from Lighthouse Baptist Church.

Graveside funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Westview Cemetery 1680 Ralph David Abernathy SW, Atlanta, GA 30310.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to either Lighthouse Baptist Church 401 Quarterman Drive Savannah GA 31410 or The National Federation of the Blind 200 East Wells Street, at Jernigan Place, Baltimore, MD 21230.
