Collins/ Eastman

Mr. James M. Williamson, age 88, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Georgia War Veterans Home.  He was born in Eastman on December 17, 1931 to James Felix and Willie Rae Amason Williamson and lived in Dodge County for many years before moving to Collins several  years ago.  He graduated from Eastman High school and then joined the United States Air Force in 1951. He served during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years service. He then went to work with U S Postal Service for the City of Eastman and retired after twenty two years.  Mr. Williamson loved deep sea fishing and was a member of Plainfield Baptist Church in Eastman.  He is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruth Williamson and a brother, Kenneth Williamson.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Drake Williamson of Collins; daughter, Melanie Peacock of Eastman; step children, Joy Phillips of Collins, Kenny(Peggy) Sikes of Navarre, FL and Don (Phyllis) Sikes of Collins; grandchildren, Meagan Peacock and Gabriel Peacock; step grandchildren, Brandi Sikes, Jasper(Andrea) Phillips, April (Danny) Salazar, Jill (Neil) Singleton, Josh(Tori) Sikes, Jesse Phillips and Alan Sikes; great granddaughter, Morgan Caroline Peacock-Edge, and fourteen step-great grandchildren.

There will be a drop in viewing on Tuesday, April 7, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Low Country Cremation and Burial.Graveside funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Bay Springs Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Eastman with the Reverend Andrew Nelms officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the US Airforce.
